The model of inefficiency

Amazon.com is offering a free tril of Amazon Prime to "select" customers. I was selcted, probably becuase I buy a lot of stuff from Amazon.

Normally, items that Amazon sells directly (as opposed to from a third pary) ship free for orders over $25. This is standard shipping. Sometimes, it's really fast; sometimes, it's pretty slow. In my experience, it has gotten slower.

Amazon Prime, which normally costs $79 per year, offers free 2-day shipping, and an upgrade to overnight shipping for $3.99. There is no minimum order.

I signed up for the 4 month free trial. Why not? I didn't think much of it ... until I thought about it.

THERE IS NO MINIMUM ORDER! UPS will bring you anything you want in 2 days. Need a box of tissues? Have UPS bring them to your door! Running out of dish soap? Order it today, have it by Thursday! Delivered to your door in a wasteful box! Cough drops? Pay just $1.39, no shipping, no tax, and the nice UPS person will bring it to you!

I tell you, it's a whole new world. See if you qualify , after logging in to your account, here.
